U14 West Munster Cup Round 5 - Killarney Black 20 Tralee 5
Killarney Black defeated rivals Tralee in Round 5 of the West Munster Cup. Black made a fast start and set the tone with good early tackling. Our intention to move the ball wide was rewarded after 10 minutes when Connie Counihan scored in the corner after we'd applied sustained pressure to the Tralee tryline.
Tralee struck back soon after after sloppy defending by Killarney Black. After this setback, the Black regathered themselves and dominated the remainder of the game in both defence and attack. In an excellent team effort such as this, it can be invidious to pick out individuals but Hugh Dorrian, Shane O'Sullivan - who scored 2 tries including one from an old fashioned "footrush", Mark Kennelly, and props Tom Chambers and Scott Carlton deserve praise.
With 3 matches left in the competition all 4 clubs still have a chance to progress to the final - next week we travel to Corca Dhuibhne to see if we can cement a spot in the final of this competition.
