Report by Seamus Grealy - Photos by Mary McCarthy

Killarney u18s travelled to near neighbour's Tralee on Sun 29th to burn some of the festival calories off and to get in gear for next Sundays away Munster Cup game against Bruff. The Killarney boys certainly showed an appetite for the run out and impressively ran in 3 tries in each half.

Adam Walsh set the tone early breaking away to score after a lineout steal after 5 Mins. Number 8 John McCarthy scored from the base of the scrum after 12 minutes and Tomas Clifford finished off some fine flowing phase play crossing in the corner after 25 minute. Tralee replied just before the break when impressive forward recycling yielded 5 points.

The second half was remarkably similar in terms of territory and possession with Killarney controlling affairs and displaying greater application, diversity and creativity. Impressive centre Gary Randles scorched through a midfield gap after40 Mins to touchdown. Craig McKenzie Vass powered through 5 minutes later from a penalty setplay and John McCarthy crossed for his second try with the games final phase following some super continuity and handling between backs and forwards.

The team that performed with great purpose and control were front rows Ciaran O Brien, Craig McKenzie Vass, Rob Nealon and Adam Cronin. 2nd row Padraig Talbot and Evan Mannix. Back row Brendy O Donoghue, Matt McAuliffe and John McCarthy. The backline were
Adam Walsh(9)Donnchadh Grealy(10) Dion O Neill and Gary Randles centres with Michael Og Cusack, Aidan Keane, Tomas Clifford and James Kennelly rotating between wing and full back.

Thanks to Tralee for graciously hosting the game.

The game brought a very successful calendar year to a conclusion and the coaching team of Seamus Grealy, John O Connell, Bill Stack, Con Crowley, Leo Randles and Fiona Reidy would like to express our appreciation for what has been an admirable 2019 team effort. A final word of thanks also to Mary McCarthy for all her time, effort and super photos.
