What's an affiliate ref?

It is IRFU Policy that all matches from U13 upwards are refereed by either Branch Referees or Club & School Affiliate Referees

Club affiliate referees are not MAR referees. They are club members who are qualified to referee matches involving their own club where no branch referee is available or hasn't been appointed. They usually referee underage games and provide an important function in servicing the game at this level in their club.

Who appoints Club Affiliate Referees

  • The responsibility for their appointment lies solely with their club

Are they members of a branch referee society or association

  • No, they are entirely separate. Club affiliate referees are a refereeing resource within their own club and have no involvement with the MAR.

Can I affiliate to more than one club ?

  • No, affiliate referees are effectively tied to one club

What games can they referee?

  • They are appointed by their club and only referee games involving their own club - importantly home or away.

*Please note that you will not gain entry to the workshop without uploading or providing the printed certificates outlined aboveFill out and bring the attached Registration Form on the night: Download Form OR register online at : http://www.munsterrugbycoachingindex.com/affiliate-referee-courses Is there a cost?
