Last Saturday our U10's finished off a fantastic season with a club trip to Thomond PArk to watch Munster Rugby host Connacht in the fine evening sunshine. Given the rain earlier in the day, the lads were all prepared for all weather and were eager to hit the road when the bus pulled up at the Clubhouse at Aghadoe at 3:20pm.

Earlier in the day, we ran our last session, this time at our fabulous main pitch rather than Knockreer and thankfully the weather wasn't too bad until the very end. The kids all received a medal for all their hard work right across the season and quickly enough attention turned to Limerick.

We got into Limerick at around 5pm and enjoyed some burgers and hotdogs at the fan zone, checking out the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open stand and putting green. Sure enough a competition quickly ensued on the putting green and we all got to take a group photo with the trophy, just the trophy wasn't a patch on the 6 Nations trophy according to some!

We then encamped in the East Terrace South and made plenty of noise as both teams warmed up. Munster came onto the pitch with a rapturous applause. It was funny to watch Andrew Conway make a mess of a certain try by allowing Stephen Fitzgerald to knock the ball out of his hands before touching it down. The act itself was criminal but the response by the lads with shouts of 'Hold it with both hands' and 'Touch it down' making the coaches very proud indeed.

Every kick earned a gasp, every try earned a cheer and the lads thoroughly enjoyed the match, watching Munster win in the end. Then it was off home, with a pit stop in Newcastlewest on the way for nibbles. There was singsongs on the way home and not a cross word by any quarter - showing how well this team has gelled right across the season!

All in all a brilliant day out for all the lads, the coaches and parents who travelled with us. Thanks to coaches Ed Stack and Liam Murphy for looking after the lads and a special thanks to Liam Murphy for organising the day out for the boys.
