The IRFU has put together a number of nutrition programmes designed to provide players with the best available advice on how to fuel their bodies to ensure top performance.

A) Eat2Compete is the IRFU’s Nutrition Programme aimed at young players and provides a series of videos and factsheets on nutrition for growing players (click here).

B) The IRFU also offers e-learning modules on nutrition for players of all ages but also their parents and coaches:

  • If you are a male rugby player between the ages of 14-19 click here
  • If you are a male rugby player of any age, coaching males or a parent click here
  • If you are a female rugby player of any age, coaching females or a parent click here

C) The IRFU also provides detailed information on Adult nutrition that covers such diverse topics as Training Diet, Nutrients, Hyperhydration, Eating to gain weight, Eating to lose weight, Pre-training snack, Pre-game snack and Alcohol Consumption. It can be accessed by clicking here.
