MATCH REPORT: By Niall Dennehy
Killarney secured a hard fought 24 - 13 win away to Dunmanway. Killarney started strong and led 3-0 thanks to the boot of Oisin O Shea. Killarney's first try followed shortly afterwards with Mike Sheehan touching down and converted by Oisin O Shea. Dunmanway replied with a penalty and converted try to leave the half time score tied at 10-10.
With the breeze in Killarney's favour in the second half Dunmanway came under sustained pressure resulting in Paudie Sheehan crossing the line for Killarney's second 17-10, again converted by Oisin O’Shea. With time running out Dunmanway converted a penalty from the half way line 17-13.
With minutes to go Dunmanway applied serious pressure to the Killarney line but resolute defending saw Killarney clear their lines and score their 3rd and final try with Ger Moynihan crashing over from short range. Oisin O Shea maintained his 100% record from the tee to leave the final score 24-13 to Killarney. Despite missing a number of players Killarney played well at times but have plenty of work to do if they want to challenge for promotion in the league.
