Pitch Improvements - update
We're pleased to let you know that the pitch improvement works have finally completed at Aghadoe.
The final works - which were carried out over the last few days (including in the evenings and at the weekend - as those of us who attended the U14 match on Sunday will have seen) - included:
- completion of the slit drains
- levelling
- spreading sand
- reseeding

Reseeding
Although later in the year that we initially hoped, soil temperatures are still around 18 degrees Celsius, so there's no reason to fear that the grass will not germinate and grow. The only danger would be a cold spell between now and Christmas that could interfere with growth.
Return to Play
We had hoped to get back to Aghadoe for New Year - based on reseeding taking place in August. That's going to be unlikely now - we will just have to keep a close eye on the development of the pitch surfaces and make the call based on how the regrowth is progressing. Obviously, we want to get back to Aghadoe as soon as possible - but a premature return will impact growth and development of the sward. We stay optimistic for mild weather, good growth, and a rapid return to playing on our new pitches.
