Enjoyment in safety is what we're trying to promote at Killarney RFC. We want children, youths, and adults alike to have fun playing the game of rugby.  However, we recognise that rugby is a contact sport - collisions occur, accidents happen and players are injured. Physical injuries are easy to spot: cuts, bruises, sprains and -  at worst and thankfully rarely -  broken bones.

Concussion can be less easy to spot.   So we are posting here a guide to checking for and spotting concussions.  We'd ask coaches, players, and moms and dads to get  familiar with what to look for. This guide is supported by the world governing bodies for rugby, soccer, ice hockey and equestrian (horse-riding) related sports.

In an ideal world, we'd probably never need to use it - but some of us can feel a small bit more comfortable having some simple guidelines to follow and knowing what to check for where concussion is suspected.
