Killarney U18.5 - Pan Munster Round 5 vs Charleville - Killarney 40 Charleville 10
After the disappointment of the Kanturk game, the lads got back to winning ways with a solid victory over Charleville.
The opening score came from a neat backs move off an attacking scrum in the Charleville 22. Bryan Walsh and Gearóid Sugrue combined to see Gearóid break the line to score.
The second try came as we worked the ball across the field from left to right taking the Charleville defence with them as it came back Billy O'Donoghue found space to race to the line. Bryan Walsh converted to leave us 12-0 after 15 minutes
A third try followed quickly after Killarney worked the ball to the right wing. Arthur Gabbett kicked ahead and Bryan Walsh won the foot race to score.
Our fourth try was also scored by Walsh who found a gap to race to the line. Sugrue converted to put Killarney 24-0 ahead at the break.
Charleville got off the mark early in the second half. There followed a long period with no scores until Gearóid Sugrue scored his second try spotting a dog leg in the Charleville defence before chipping ahead and regathering to score. Bryan Walsh converted.
Killarney repeated the dose as Gearóid chipped over the Charleville defence for Bryan Walsh to gather and race half the field to score under the posts. Gearóid Sugrue converted the score.
Killarney scored again as they worked the ball into the corner through some big carries before spreading it wide to Mark Kennelly who stepped through the cover defence. Bryan Walsh added another conversion.
Charleville kept going to the end and got the last score.
