A disappointing start to the campaign after 2 encouraging friendlies against Tralee and UL Bohs.
We started slowly and allowed Corca Dhuibhne to dominate the opening proceedings even though they were playing up the notorious hill, and they opened up an early ten point lead through 2 unconverted tries. We came back with a try under the posts by Bryan Walsh to go in 10-7 down at the break.
RCD scored another try early in the second half to open the lead beyond 7 points. The lads expended much effort and it looked like we scored under the points - but the referee ruled held up. The wind made kicking difficult and although we had penalties to close the gap - we felt unable to risk the kick to reduce the deficit. As it turned out, there were no further scores from either side.
